Gardaí launch investigation after a man is stabbed to death in Dublin

A 52-year-old man died after being stabbed in Dublin on Wednesday night.

Gardaí in Lucan in Dublin are investigating a stabbing which resulted in the death of a 52-year-old man on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred at Buirg an Ri Walk, Balgaddy, Dublin at approximately 10.20pm on Wednesday night; the man received serious stab wounds and was pronounced dead a short time later at the scene.

A 19-year-old man was arrested shortly after midnight and is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place on Thursday and the local coroner has been notified.

The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination. The Garda Technical Bureau are attending the scene.
