Gardaí investigating the discovery of the body of a man in his 50s in a house on the Bandon Rd, Cork City, have made two arrests as of Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed today that two people — a man and a woman — had been arrested on suspicion of murder. The woman is in her early 50s and the man is in his early 40s.

The man’s body was discovered by Gardaí shortly after 11.30am Saturday, 7 September.

The female is being detained at Togher Garda Station while the male is being detained at Mayfield Garda Station. Both are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The arrests follow a separate incident in Cork yesterday, where the body of a man in his 20s was found in a farmhouse at 7am.
