Maria Steen has been reconfirmed as a participant for tonight’s Eighth Amendment debate on TV3’s Pat Kenny Show.

It had originally been reported that Steen had pulled out of tonight’s debate, following LoveBoth spokeswomen Cora Sherlock’s absence from last night’s debate on Prime Time.

Steen, who is involved with the Iona Institute, has already appeared as an advocate for a No vote on Claire Byrne Live.

Gavan Reilly, a political correspondent for TV3, confirmed the turnaround on his Twitter account. It remains unclear what has prompted Steen’s decision to appear on the show.

Steen will join Pat Kenny to debate Friday’s upcoming referendum, alongside Senator Rónán Mullen. The Yes side will be represented by Minister Regina Doherty and Colm O’Gorman of Amnesty Ireland.

Tonight’s debate will be the final one of its kind before Ireland heads to the polls on Friday.
