VIDEO: The Repeal mural is back in Temple Bar and it can never (ever) be removed again
You really can't paint over an issue.
Maser's mural at the Project Arts Centre in Temple Bar, removed due to objections by the pro-life campaign and because it was in contravention of certain planning laws, is back.
Using an Augmented Reality (AR) marker in the exact spot where the mural previously stood, the message of the mural now has the power to spread further than ever before.
The mural has been reprinted on donuts, on t-shirts, on faces and now has its own AR code which, when viewed through an Android phone (Apple technology coming soon), makes it visible anywhere.

If you missed out on getting a selfie at the @maserart mural @projectartscentre, well fret not. Next time you're in the neighbourhood, pop out your android, visit 8mural.com and point your phone at the QR code to see an AR version of the mural on the blue wall. Endless potential selfies. Big shout out to Greg, @mav_kel & Eamonn for making it happen. #RepealThe8th #MaserArt #HunReal
The AR code gives people a chance to own the mural, the message and the movement, to stick it anywhere and everywhere, legally.
Repealing the eighth amendment is not a feminist issue, it is not a women's issue, repealing the eighth is everybody's issue.
This is a law that effectively places a lower value on women's physical and mental health than that given to other citizens.
To have control over your own body should not be a privilege but it is a freedom that is denied to so many. Are we all equal? Yes. Is that reflected in the law? No.
Until women have autonomy over their bodies, true equality cannot be.
