Pedestrian in his 40s dies in road traffic collision in Mayo

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A man has died following a road traffic collision in Mayo on Monday morning (25 July).

The collision occurred at approximately 3.15am at Dooagh in Keel, Achill.

The collision involved a car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been removed to Mayo University Hospital.

There were no other injuries reported.

The scene is currently preserved for Forensic Collision Investigators to examine.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who were travelling in the area and who may have camera footage, including dash cam footage, are being asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
