Stephen Porzio

Take note.

A number of counties have been issued with new and updated Status Yellow weather warnings for this weekend.

Met Éireann has put out a wind warning for the province of Leinster, as well as counties Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary and Waterford.

Issued on Saturday afternoon, it applies from 11am on Sunday until 9am on Monday.

“Very strong southwesterly winds and some severe gusts are expected later on Sunday morning, veering west to northwest on Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning,” it reads.

Meanwhile, a previously issued rain warning has been updated by Met Éireann and now includes Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.

It will be in effect from 6pm on Saturday to 6pm on Sunday.

Another warning that has also been updated is the wind warning for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Donegal, along with the province of Connacht.

It will now take effect from 5am on Sunday to 9am on Monday.

The new and updated warnings come as ESB crews are continuing to work towards bringing back power to homes and businesses that lost electricity due to Storm Eunice on Friday.

According to ESB’s latest update on Twitter, 73,000 customers have had their power restored, with 7,000 still without electricity.
