Orange and Yellow warnings have also been extended nationwide.
Met Éireann has issued a new status red snow-ice warning as snow accumulations continue to increase significantly due to further heavy falls of snow across the country.
The latest warning, issued on Friday afternoon, affects Dublin, Kildare, Wexford, Wicklow and Meath and is in effect from Friday at 4pm until Saturday morning at 9am.

Earlier on Friday, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar advised that “it will take a few days” before things start to clear up.
Meanwhile, the government’s public safety notice has been lifted, though people are advised to excercise “extreme caution” if venturing outside.
