Met Éireann has issued a weather warning for four counties

Take note.

Met Éireann has issued Status Yellow rainfall warning for four counties in what looks set to be a wet 24 hours in the west.

The warning was issued at 4pm on Thursday and is valid from 2pm on Friday until 2pm on Saturday.

The counties affected are Galway, Kerry, Limerick and Clare.

Met Éireann said spells of heavy rain will lead to accumulations of 30 to 40mm during the period, with the potential for greater levels to fall on higher ground.

Bands of rain will spread across the country from the west during the morning and afternoon.

Some of the showers will be heavy and there’s also the risk of some thundery downpours and hail.

Friday night will be very blustery and showers will be prolonged with some very heavy in the south and west.

Gale force winds are expected widely with some severe gusts in the south and southwest with the risk of flooding.
