Met Éireann issues rain warning for three counties before temperature spike

Blue skies might not be far away.

The yellow warning will be in effect across Cork, Kerry and Waterford from 9pm tonight (Thursday) until tomorrow morning (Friday).

Met Éireann has warned of possible spot flooding and difficult travelling conditions, particularly in the southwest.

According to the national forecaster, the weather will remain unsettled for the rest of the working week, with rain spreading from the southwest and becoming widespread overnight into Friday.

Today will remain largely wet with patchy showers and temperatures of between 15 and 21C.

Another wet start is expected tomorrow as well as widespread rain at first before brighter skies appear and conditions become drier. Western areas will remain showery in the AM, with rain moving eastwards later in the day. Temperatures will range between 16 and 20C.

Despite the wet spell, there is some optimism for the weekend, as Saturday is set to be mostly dry with temperatures rising to 15–20C.

Sunday will bring even better conditions with hazy sunshine and even higher temperatures of 19–23C.

Additionally, Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather revealed the latest GFS weather forecast shows warmer air continuing towards Ireland.
