It’s brass monkey weather out there today…
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange weather warning for the country as freezing temperatures are causing snow to fall in a lot of places this morning.
Motorists and pedestrians are also being warned of the dangers of black ice on both the roads and pathways.
We don’t have to remind you, but if you’re not careful you could end up like this lad…
According to Met Éireann’s latest forecast, today will be “bitterly cold” with showers of hail, sleet and snow is most areas.
The snow will be most frequent in Munster, Connacht and Ulster with temperatures for the day ranging between just 1C and 4C.

More snow, sleet and rain is expected to hit the country later tonight with temperatures ranging between -2C and 2C, so you can better you bottom dollar that tomorrow morning is going to be absolutely bitter.
