Stephen Porzio

Ireland’s current spell of unsettled weather continues.

Donegal has been hit with a Status Orange weather warning by Met Éireann over possible “damaging gusts”.

The alert was issued by the forecaster late on Saturday afternoon and will be in effect from 1am on Monday to 7am later that day.

“Severe west to northwest winds with some damaging gusts are possible on Sunday night,” it reads.

The warning is the latest in a series of alerts as conditions in Ireland remain unsettled following Storm Eunice’s arrival on Friday.

A Status Yellow rain warning has taken effect for Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo and is in place until 6pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow wind warning has been put out for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Donegal and the province of Connacht and is valid from 5am on Sunday until 9am on Monday.

Also, the province Leinster, along with the counties Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary and Waterford, have been issued another Status Yellow wind warning that will take effect from 11am on Sunday to 9am on Monday.
