That said, rain is on the cards for parts of the country.

Met Éireann has said temperatures are set to hit 20 degrees this weekend, though parts of the country can expect some rain.

Saturday will be mostly dry today with sunny spells, the best of which will be over the eastern half of the country.

However, clouds will thicken from the west, bringing with them the chance of some patchy rain in western coastal counties at times. Rain and drizzle will then develop in the southwest this evening.

Temperatures will range from 15 to 18 degrees with moderate breezes, though it will be a tad cooler in the southwest.

Sunday morning will then be mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle before becoming drier and brighter in east Ulster and the northern half of Leinster during the afternoon.

Elsewhere, it will remain quite cloudy with showers over the western half of the country in the afternoon and evening, with a possibility of one or two heavy showers.

Temperatures will range from 16 to 20 degrees with moderate breezes.

Met Éireann’s weather summary for the week ahead reads: “Mixed weather in store for the coming week with some dry periods and with rain or showers at times.”

However, the national forecaster also adds: “Current indications suggest that next weekend will become warmer with a mix of sunshine and showers.”
