13 Russians have been officially charged with interfering in the 2016 US election

Robert Mueller’s special investigation team made the announcement on Friday.

These represent the first official criminal charges placed against Russians in relation to the Trump-Russia scandal.

In a report by The Guardian, there have been thirteen Russians and three Russian entities have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Washington DC.

They have all been charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States, five have the additional charges of aggravated identity theft, and three further charges have been given for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud.

Robert Mueller’s special investigation team are conducting a criminal inquiry into interference by Russians and possible collusion by Trump’s campaign, in which one Trump aide has already pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, while a further two have been charged with federal crimes.

The Russian individuals listed as charged are Mikhail Ivanovich Bystrov, Mikhail Leonidovich Burchik, Aleksandra Yuryevna Krylova, Anna Vladislavovna Bogacheva, Sergey Pavlovich Polozov, Maria Anatolyevna Bovda, Robert Sergeyevich Bovda, Dzheykhun Nasimi Ogly, Vadim Vladimirovich Podkopaev, Gleb Igorevitch Vasilchenko, Irina Viktorovna Kaverzina, Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin and Vladimir Venkov.
