Murder investigation launched after discovery of man’s body in Dublin apartment

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information surrounding the discovery of a man’s body in an apartment in Dublin on Saturday.

The body of a man in his late 20s was discovered on Achill Road in Drumcondra and Gardaí have confirmed a murder investigation is underway.

The body was removed from the scene on Sunday afternoon and the State pathologist has conducted a post-mortem but the results will not be released.

A man in his 30s has been arrested as part of this investigation and is still being detained at a Garda Station in North Dublin under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

A family liaison officer has also been appointed and continues to keep the family informed of this investigation.

The Drumcondra apartment where the body was discovered remains preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for any persons who were travelling in the Home Farm Road area of Drumcondra or the surrounding areas between the morning of Tuesday, 2 August, 2022, and the evening of Saturday, 6 August, 2022, who observed any activity which drew their attention, to come forward.
