Someone is about to have the best new year ever.

A quick pick ticket was bought on Friday 29 December for that day’s draw, and with it came the winning numbers for a cool €38,906,715 million.

Today the National Lottery confirmed that the winning ticket was sold in Dublin, and for players to double check their tickets as the winner has yet to come forward.

As per the National Lottery statement:

“We are urging all our players to check their tickets to see if they are the lucky winner or winners. At this stage, we don’t know if it’s a single winner or a syndicate.”

“We advise anybody who has this ticket to keep it safe until they can get into the National Lottery office. […] This is a valuable piece of paper. We are open after the New Year’s break on Tuesday [2 January] and we look forward to welcoming the winner or winners into the iconic Winner’s Room.”

Those winning numbers are as follows: 04, 08, 22, 23, 48, and the lucky stars were 01 and 12

This makes it the 3rd won in Ireland in 2017 alone, and the 12th since Euromillions began in 2004.
