The National Lottery have urged the Irish winner of the Euromillions jackpot to make themselves be known as a “huge kerfuffle” has been caused by the one of the biggest lottery wins the country has ever seen.

One lucky person somewhere in Ireland claimed a cool €88,587,275 in Tuesday night’s Euromillions draw, a victory that
the entire country has been talking about since.

The National Lottery had no further details to reveal when contacted by JOE on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking to the Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk on Wednesday morning, meanwhile, National Lottery CEO Dermot Griffin said that the outlet that sold the ticket hadn’t yet been informed by the National Lottery, but added that he expected the jackpot to be paid out next week.
"The first thing we tell them is to sign the back of the ticket and make contact with the National Lottery - so they can ring through to our claims area and naturally we'll guide them through the process from there,” Griffin said.
"Because there's nine countries involved in the Euromillions, it will take until next week before all of the money is transferred from the other countries into Ireland.
"So we will be paying out the jackpot hopefully sometime next week.”
