“It’s about time we had a UKIP in Ireland.”
The RDS in Dublin is home to an Irexit conference today, one which has been organised by Nigel Farage’s Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy Group in the European Parliament.

Farage spoke to RTE about the EFDD and his hopes that Ireland will follow suit and perform their own version of the Brexit, with Irish people having apparently told him that ‘it’s about time we had a UKIP in Ireland’:
“[T]here are voices now in Ireland saying maybe the Brits are right about it. There are lots of people in the professional media, civil service and political classes who love the European Union, but actually, if you go a few miles outside Dublin, it’s not all that pro-EU. I’ve never bought this argument that Ireland is totally pro-EU.”
This idea that Ireland is entirely pro-EU is completely wrong. I’m making speeches and taking part in events this weekend to spread that message. #Irexit pic.twitter.com/fOwPVjTYrZ

While there will be a full report on the conference on JOE soon, the initial reaction to the #Irexit movement is exactly what you think it might be…
Just replace mens rights with #Irexit. Thank you so much. pic.twitter.com/d0LnuI9G7W
