No new Covid-19 deaths in Northern Ireland over the past 24 hours

Very positive news from Northern Ireland on Tuesday.

No new Covid-19 deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland over the past 24 hours, the first day this has happened since 18 March.

As of Tuesday 26 May, The Department of Health’s death toll in Northern Ireland stands at 514.

This figure is said to be comprised mostly of hospital deaths.

The death toll on the island of Ireland is currently 2,120.

28 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Northern Ireland on Tuesday afternoon, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,637.

The news comes the day after it was announced that the Republic of Ireland reported no daily Covid-19 related deaths for the first time since 21 March.

In the United Kingdom, between 11 and 15 May, there were 4,210 deaths reported in connection with Covid-19.
