One man has died following a collision in Dublin

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning.

One man has died following a collision in Dublin, while another has been left with life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the fatal road traffic collision between two cars on the N7 outbound at Kingswood in Tallaght at approximately 12.20am (21 September).

The driver of one of the vehicles (a male in his 40s), was pronounced deceased at the scene and has been removed to Dublin City Morgue.

A male in his 30s has been taken to Tallaght Hospital with life-threatening injuries and another male in his late 20s was taken to Tallaght hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A male in his 40s was treated at the scene but did not require hospital admittance.

The road was closed temporarily for Forensic Collision Investigators to carry out an examination and has since reopened.

As one of the vehicles came to the attention of Gardaí prior to the incident, this matter has been referred to GSOC.

Investigations are ongoing.
