Met Éireann issues Status Orange fog warning for 18 counties

A status orange fog warning has been listed for 18 counties in Ireland as the country gets set for hazy late night and early morning conditions.

Issued on Monday evening (8 April), the warning concerns Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.

According to Met Éireann, mist will thicken into fog overnight and should become dense at times.

The warning is valid from Tuesday 9 April at midnight until 8am.

Motorists travelling in difficult foggy conditions are advised to take care while driving.
