The man behind the United the Right rally which led to the death of Heather Heyer has now insulted her on Twitter.
Jason Kessler, who helped plan the white supremacist march in Charlottesville, Virginia, took to twitter to write “Heather Heyer was a fat, disgusting Communist. Communists have killed 94 million. Looks like it was payback time.”
After facing criticism for the tweet, Kessler backtracked and wrote “I repudiate the heinous tweet that was sent from my account last night. I’ve been under a crushing amount of stress and death threats.”
He went on to admit that he’d been drinking and using prescription pills at the time he wrote the tweet. “I’m taking Ambien, Xanax and I had been drinking last night. I sometimes wake up having done strange things I don’t remember.”
Kessler has since deleted his Twitter account.
