The White House confirmed the news of his death on Saturday.

The US Government have confirmed the death of Hamza bin Laden, son of Osama bin Laden, also rendered Usama bin Ladin.

He was believed to be 30-years-old, although his exact age is not confirmed.

His death had been reported in July, but it has not yet been confirmed until now.

The New York Times have reported that they have been in contact with two officials who confirmed his death and said the US had played a role in the operation “but it was not clear how”.

A statement from The White House confirmed the news on Saturday.

It read: “Hamza bin Ladin, the high-ranking al-Qa’ida member and son of Usama bin Ladin, was killed in a United States counter-terrorism operation in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region.

“The loss of Hamza bin Ladin not only deprives al-Qa’ida of important leadership skills and the symbolic connection to his father, but undermines important operational activities of the group.

“Hamza bin Ladin was responsible for planning and dealing with various terrorist groups.”
