
Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed that the man was on duty at the time.
One man has been arrested following the assault of a paramedic on a Dublin Bus.
The incident happened on the 41 bus on Abbey Street, Dublin 1 at around 7.40am, Tuesday morning.
Dublin Fire Brigade was called to assist a man, who allegedly then became aggressive and knocked the paramedic who was treating him unconscious.
A statement was posted on Twitter after the incident happened, confirming the series of events.

"Dublin Fire Brigade can confirm that one of its Firefighter/Paramedics was assaulted in the city centre this morning, an individual has been arrested," the statement read.
The statement went on to confirm that the member of staff who was involved in the altercation was part of an ambulance crew treating a patient at the time.
A Garda spokesperson has since confirmed that the man was later arrested for public order and assault and was brought to Store Street Garda Station.
