Pedestrian in his 20s dies following road traffic collision in Meath

Tragic news.

A man in his 20s has died following a road traffic collision in Meath on Sunday (17 April).

The pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on the R161 Trim Road near Balreask Cross at approximately 1.30am.

The man was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment, but has since passed away.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

Gardaí at Navan appealing for witnesses to come forward and are also appealing to any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R161 Trim Road near Balreask Cross between 1am and 1.45am on Sunday to make this footage available to them.
