Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
A man in his 40s has died after he was struck by a car late on Tuesday evening in Mayo.
Gardaí have said the incident occurred shortly before 11pm on the N60 at Carrowntober Oughter, Manulla, near Balla.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased shortly after emergency services arrived at the scene.
The road is currently closed, with diversions in place.

In a statement to JOE on Wednesday morning, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in County Mayo, on Tuesday, 1st October 2024.
“Shortly before 11:00pm, Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the N60 at Carrowntober Oughter, Manulla, near Balla.
“The pedestrian, a male in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.
“The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
“The scene is preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
“Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are also seeking any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were traveling in the area at the time of the incident to provide it to investigating Gardaí.
