He hasn’t gone away just yet.
Peter Casey has deleted a cartoon video that was posted to his Twitter account on Tuesday evening.
The animation depicted Casey’s appearance on The Late Late Show, and bizarrely portrayed a student from the travelling community who debated with Casey on the show as well-known traveller Joe Joyce.
Joyce gathered fame online from a viral call-out video which has over 700,000 views.
The tweet which appeared on Casey’s Twitter account and included the video was deleted by the former presidential candidate following a backlash.
Bannerton PR, Casey’s public relations company for the Presidential Election, were also tagged in the tweet, and their account also retweeted the short video.
Casey has since released a statement on Twitter where he said:
“I have removed the cartoon video from my account. I wish to state that Bannerton PR had nothing to do with this video. The content did not originate there and it is not supported by myself or Bannerton. Any enquiry should be directed to its producers, @HappyOutChannel”

When contacted by JOE on Wednesday, Bannerton PR said that their retweet of the video had been a mistake and it has been withdrawn.
You can read their full statement below.
A cartoon video satirising Peter Casey’s recent appearance on RTÉ’s Late Late Show was mistakenly retweeted by Bannerton yesterday and has been withdrawn.
This content did not originate in the company, is not in any way supported by the company and should not be linked to any Bannerton employee or client in any way.
Any enquiry as to the motivation behind the production should be directed to its producers, Happy Out @HappyOutChannel
Peter Casey’s social media platforms are managed in the US. As of the conclusion of the Presidential campaign, Bannerton is not managing Mr Casey’s public relations and, as a result, cannot comment on his behalf.
Bannerton apologises wholeheartedly to any clients, associates or individuals who were upset by this video and its inadvertent circulation.
