“I have nothing to apologise for.”
It was a busy night for Tubridy’s couch on Friday, as not only did he have much-loved political powerhouse Mary Robinson on the show, but he also had recent Presidential runner-up Peter Casey.
Among the topics of conversation were his comments on the Traveller community, when he was asked by an audience member why he was marginalising the community.
He uses this as a standpoint to call the government as “stupid” and “weak”, and that calling the Travelling community an ethnic minority was a big mistake:
Additionally, Casey discussed his future as a politician in Ireland, claiming that he will run for a Dáil seat in Donegal, and maybe other constituencies as well.
He also stated that he did not believe Micheál Martin was the person to lead the Fianna Fáil party:
“I think he is not the leader that they need at the moment. If they do not make a change in their leadership what’s going to happen in the next election is they will go exactly the same way as the Labour Party and Fine Gael will be in power for the next fifteen years.”
