Pharmaceutical packaging company Wasdell is planning a major facility in Mullagharlin, Dundalk.
According to RTÉ, the €30 million investment in the Co. Louth facility will see 300 jobs created by 2022.
Wasdell have announced plans for the site to cover an excess of 70,000 square feet and include 12 bespoke production suites.
The firm is originally based in the UK, but it's Managing Director Martin Tedham explained the logic behind the expansion: “Due to the rate of growth we are experiencing and the ongoing requirement to maintain capacity, a site in Ireland will be a means to facilitate this as well as an exciting opportunity for the group and specifically the Wasdell Packaging division.
"We have always had a strong customer base in Ireland and we are certain that this trend will continue with the impending Brexit situation as companies typically from the UK and USA look to securing a base to service their European markets”
