PIC: Astronaut shares breathtaking photo of Northern Lights from space

Alan Loughnane

Wow, just wow…

Astronaut Scott Kelly is currently spending a full year aboard the International Space Station to help NASA understand how the body reacts to long periods in zero gravity.

To pass the time, Kelly has a very active Twitter account where he often shares photos of the wondrous views on offer from the Space Station.

So while some of you were probably asleep last night, Scott Kelly was looking down on this beautiful scene on day 309 of 365 days in the Space Station.

Would you spend a year in space for NASA? We might consider it for views like this… or at least for the Twitter followers we’d get out of it.
