No doubt Fianna Fáil officials in the Rebel County have already released the hounds in an attempt to find the person responsible.

We’re not advocating vandalism or anything, but we have to admit that our funny bone has been tickled by the way in which some election posters throughout the country have been defaced to make them more amusing for the many disillusioned voters out there ahead of the vote this week.

In a lot of cases, it’s just a fake moustache here or a pair of bigger ears there, but somebody in Cork has gone above and beyond the call of duty by meddling with a poster of Fianna Fáil councillor Sean Martin to make him look like the one and only Mr. Burns from The Simpsons.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that a number of Fianna Fáil supporters had gathered around the poster to express disappointment by booing the fact that it had been defaced, although one of the supporters present claimed to have been saying Boo-urns the whole time.

It’s easy to conclude who was in charge of printing these election posters…
