We can only hope that after saying the word to itself repeatedly, that the cat in question here eventually passed the test.

We at JOE know all about the perils of online journalism and how easy it can be to make a mistake so before we’re hit with ‘throwing stones in glass houses’ accusations, we should point out that what happened on the Chicago Tribune homepage today was completely innocent and we’re only pointing out because it just so happened to be mildly amusing.

For a brief period earlier today, visitors to the Chicago Tribune website, probably expecting hard-hitting news, were instead greeted with a picture of a fairly adorable looking cat, complete with the word ‘test’ typed repeatedly alongside.

What Scott Kleinberg of the Tribune called a ‘glitch’ was corrected shortly afterwards after those responsible obviously stopped pussy-footin’ around and restored everything to normal, with the Tribune homepage now featuring more serious and relevant yet far less entertaining stories front and centre.

Bring back the cat!

Hat-tip to our sisters at Her.ie for this one.
