Following a Garda sting over the weekend, here’s the massive haul of cash they seized.
One of the more bizarre crime stories of the year took place over the weekend. The Limerick Gardai, after a lengthy surveillance operation, made a move on a field in Portcrusha, Castleconnell, Co Limerick.
They found two men using a digger to dig up bundles and bundles of cash from six feet under the ground. The men were then using a tumble dryer to dry out the soggy notes in a shed in the field.
It is the biggest single seizure of cash in the history of the State and here’s the picture of it released by the Gardai.
Both men have since been released by the Gardai.
