“Prince Charles has always denied he’s a member of the IRA.” Sorry, what?
A historic event took place in NUI Galway today as Prince Charles shook the hand of Gerry Adams to mark the first meeting of a Royal Family member with a member of the Sinn Féin leadership in the Republic of Ireland.
So significant was the event that it earned media coverage across the globe, including in the Washington Post, one of the largest newspapers in the USA.
People reading the article about Charles’ visit to Ireland, particularly readers from Ireland and the UK, may have raised an eyebrow at one paragraph in particular though, which claimed that Charles has always denied being a member of the IRA.
Maybe it’s just us, but we can’t remember him ever being accused of such a thing.
