Pic: There’s something very, very strange going on with the Bus Éireann website today

Anybody know what's happening here?

Eoghan Doherty

This is bizarre.

In case you hadn’t heard, Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann staff are on strike for the next 48 hours and so, naturally enough, many commuters have been visiting the Bus Éireann website, Facebook and Twitter pages as a means of finding information about when normal service will be resumed.

However, one JOE reader, Daniel Carr, spotted this very strange anomaly on the Bus Éireann website below.

It appears normal enough at first glance, right?

When you click on the Twitter link in the top-right hand corner, it brings you to a Twitter page called @buseireanndeals.

“Happy days” you think to yourself, “I’d love some Bus Éireann deals, they’ll come in really handy. Bus Éireann deals are great. In fact, Bus Éireann deals are one of my favourite ever things.”

You know what won’t come in handy though?

A terrified, jumping cat accompanied by masked man who’s supposedly based in Kazan, Russia, and posting pictures of Al Pacino in Scarface and Vines of of his pals eating dinner.

That’s right, the Twitter link on the official Bus Éireann webpage brings you to this account:

Russian Twitter

That’s not where the fun stops though. When translated, the page looks like this:

Ah yes, the cabinet juicy pokes his nose. Wise words.

If anyone can shed some light on this, then please let us know on Facebook or Twitter. We promise those links work properly and won’t whisk you off to some random Russian pages.

Thanks to Daniel Carr for the heads up on this.
