Six-year-old Charlotte from New Zealand suffers from a severe hearing impairment in her left ear and recently underwent surgery to be fitted with her second cochlear implant.
The device allows those who’re extremely hard of hearing to get some sense of sound.
Charlotte unfortunately also has a condition which limits the extent that her brain can receive sounds from her right ear.
Before her surgery, her father Alistair Campbell decided to shave his head and get a tattoo of the device so she wouldn’t be self-conscious about hers.
He told the New Zealand Herald, “This was all about her, not me. As she grows older, she’ll understand the love behind it.”
