The Taoiseach didn’t like this at all.
As we told you over the weekend, Enda Kenny took umbrage with some of the detractors from his own town of Castlebar after the Taoiseach labelled certain people as ‘All-Ireland whingers’ at a General Election campaign rally on Saturday evening.
The Fine Gael leader said: “God knows we have some All-Ireland champions here in Castlebar. I don’t mean Castlebar Mitchels (a GAA team), I mean the whingers I hear every week saying ‘there’s nothing happening’.
“Well I want to assure them that the future is very bright. All we have to do is maintain progress in terms of our economy.”
Journalist and Galway Advertiser editor Declan Varley tweeted the damning pamphlet that provoked Kenny’s outburst and here it is.
