Homenews

This is a bit of a turn up for the books...

Thurles in Tipperary is known to many people as the home of hurling because of the history that surrounds Semple Stadium but the locals aren't using that as a claim to fame anymore, they've only moved onto an internationally recognised pop star. George Alan O'Dowd or Boy George as he's better known has strong family connections in Thurles as both his parents are from there which is news to everyone in JOE Towers. That link has led to an addition to the signs around the town with the upgraded signage now looking like this... We're not sure how Lar Corbett, Mary Hanafin, Una Healy and Pat Shortt feel about this but wouldn't it be great if Boy George did five nights in Semple Stadium followed by an after-party in Hayes' Hotel in the town. The GAA would be all over that.
