Pic: Very sound driver in Dublin leaves two notes on the windscreen of an unoccupied car he bumped into

Fair play to him.

JOE

Fair play to him.

One of the most frustrating things for a motorist to experience is to return to their parked car to find that it has been damaged while they were away with no indication as to who or what might have caused it.

Under those circumstances, the person responsible for causing the damage should really endeavour to contact the owner of the damaged car, but a lot of people are content to simply do a runner if nobody was around to see what actually happened.

JOE reader Christopher McGeady arrived at his car in Dublin yesterday to find that there had been some damage done at the front of his wheel arch, but he also found a note which had been left on the windscreen by the person responsible and another one just in case the first one blew away in the wind (we have removed the person’s name, car license plate and mobile phone number to protect his identity).

You might think it’s a bit much heaping praise on the motorist who caused the damage for doing something that everyone really should do under the circumstances, but the reality is that not everyone would have taken it upon themselves to do it and it’s nice to see that there are still some decent people around.

Hat-tip to Christopher McGeady for sending this one our way
