Thousands of Leaving Cert students celebrated receiving their results around the country last night and while those celebrations were well deserved, every year there is always concern for the safety of those students in case they might overdo the celebrations just a little bit.

With that mind, a man who goes by the name of Joe Maxi Taxi offered to provide free taxi service for all the Leaving Cert students in Ballyhaunis Community School in Mayo, foregoing the taxi fare by asking students to make a contribution to suicide prevention charity ‘One Life’.

It was a service that was welcomed by the Leaving Cert students, who made a collective contribution of just short of €200 to the charity in what was a fantastic gesture by everyone involved.
