The car caught fire close to Junction 14 on the M50 on Saturday afternoon.

The left lane of the motorway was blocked for a time as the Dublin Fire Brigade dealt with the car, with heavy delays occurring as a result.

No injuries have been reported but motorists on the M50 have been advised to drive with extreme care; the fire had originally been dealt with by the Dublin Fire Brigade but caught fire again, causing the left lane of the motorway to be closed off once again.
