Some crowd turning out…
It seems appropriate that the heavens would open this morning as the Pope makes his way to knock to visit the shrine.
People sat in their cars while rain clattered against their windows as traffic came to a standstill on all roads leading to Knock.
People were advised to travel early and many did with the shrine opened to the public at 5am. But there are reports of tailbacks of up to 9km this morning.

Pope Francis will land in Ireland West Airport around 9.20am this morning.
He will arrive in a cavalcade at Knock Shrine at 9.45am direct from Ireland West Airport, and his progress will be shown on screens in Knock in a live feed.
