Drogheda arrests

That is not what the cup-holder is for.

Gardaí in Meath arrested a man for drink-driving on Wednesday night. When the driver in question was pulled over, Gardaí discovered that the man had a pint glass, half-full of Guinness, in the cup-holder, as well as plenty more cans on the passenger seat.

A statement published by the Gardaí on the Meath Crime Prevention Facebook read: “Man arrested at a Meath Roads Policing checkpoint last night took drink driving to another level. Pint glass found beside driver’s seat. He was arrested and later charged and will appear at Drogheda District Court.

“The checkpoint was on the R132 at Gormanstown.”

Photos from the scene were also posted on the Facebook page.
