PICS: A unit of Dublin Fire Brigade came under attack in Dublin on Friday night

Tony Cuddihy

It takes a very special kind of dickhead to attack our emergency services like this.

Dublin Fire Brigade have posted images from Friday night in Dublin, when one of their engines was attacked and vandalised on the north side of the city.

The crew were attending the scene of a bonfire when the incident occurred at the East Wall, close to Dublin city centre.

Tweets from the service read: ‘Unfortunately one of our fire engines came under attack whilst approaching a bonfire in the East Wall area.

‘Fortunately no injuries to any crew member.

‘The unit was taken out of service for a period of time while it was repaired or replaced. Please respect our crews.’
