They’re stuck on the runway for now.

An Emirates airline Airbus A380 superjumbo jet has been quarantined at New York John F. Kennedy airport.

The measure was taken after over 100 passengers fell ill with coughing and fevers over 100 degrees Fahrenheit over the course of the flight. So far, it has not been made clear what exactly caused the passengers to get sick.

The flight originated in Dubai, and stopped over in the Saudi city Mecca, which is currently experiencing an outbreak of flu, though it is not confirmed that this is connected to the illness on the plane.

According to NBC New York, Emirates Flight 203 landed in New York around 9:15 a.m. with “at least 100 of the 500 passengers on board … feeling ill.”

Photos from the scene show multiple units of emergency services on hand to deal with the situation.

The passengers will remain quarantined on the plane until officials from the American Centre for Disease Control and Prevention arrive.
