Over 25,000 customers were left without power and Irish Rail services were affected.

Shortly before 9am on Friday morning, ESB reported that affected customers had their power fully restored.

A “large power fault” left more than 25,000 ESB customers without power in north Dublin and the surrounding areas on Friday morning.
Having initially reported a “large fault” in Carpenterstown and Dublin 15 on Friday morning, ESB Networks subsequently reported the fault in the Dublin area after customers reported outages in areas such as Castleknock, Palmerstown, Coolmine and Ashbourne in Meath.

As of shortly after 8am on Friday morning, faults in Clonshaugh, Merville and Ashbourne were reported on powercheck.ie, with over 25,000 customers affected.
Power is expected to be restored in Clonshaugh shortly after 9am and in Merville and Ashbourne before midday.
Dublin City Council warned that lights are out on the north and west sides of the city as a result of the power outages, while Irish Rail customers and DART customers were warned of significant delays to services.
