Horrific.

The whole country is still coming to terms with Sunday night’s tragedy in Buncrana, Donegal, where five people were killed when their car slipped into Lough Swilly.

Sean McGrotty, his children Mark and Evan, his mother-in-law Ruth Daniels and her daughter Jodie Lee Daniels lost their lives in the incident.

Sean McGrotty’s four-month old baby, Rionaghac-Ann, was heroically saved by Donegal man, Davitt Walsh.

President Michael D. Higgins has been showing his respects.

“I have heard with the greatest sadness of the terrible loss of life of a family in Buncrana.”

The funeral service for the five victims has been arranged for 2pm on Thursday at the Holy Family parish church in Ballymagroarty in Derry.

Several Irish people have been paying tributes to the victims, as well as Davitt Walsh’s incredibly brave act.
