President Michael D. Higgins has paid tribute to the victims of the Buncrana tragedy
Horrific.
The whole country is still coming to terms with Sunday night's tragedy in Buncrana, Donegal, where five people were killed when their car slipped into Lough Swilly.
Sean McGrotty, his children Mark and Evan, his mother-in-law Ruth Daniels and her daughter Jodie Lee Daniels lost their lives in the incident.
Sean McGrotty's four-month old baby, Rionaghac-Ann, was heroically saved by Donegal man, Davitt Walsh.
President Michael D. Higgins has been showing his respects.
"I have heard with the greatest sadness of the terrible loss of life of a family in Buncrana."
"Sabina and I wish to express our deepest sympathies to the McGrotty family and their communities." - President Michael D. Higgins
