Brought to you by the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

Applications are being accepted now.

Have you always wanted to work as a police officer? Well, this could be your chance.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has announced a new recruitment drive and they’re looking to hire people from all communities. This is your chance to tackle crime, make a difference in the community and take on a job where you can help people on a daily basis.

Applications are being accepted up until 10 November, 2017.

So what do you need to qualify? The first requirement is that you’re over the age of 18 and that you’re eligible to work in the UK. If you’re a citizen of the Republic of Ireland, you’ll automatically be eligible as a citizen of a European Economic Area country.

There are also some basic educational, medical and physical standards that you’ll be expected to meet before you’ll be considered. You’ll also have to go through a vetting process and demonstrate a minimum level of computer literacy.

Applicants from the Republic of Ireland will need to have obtained a Leaving Cert in five subjects at Grade C (Ordinary) or Grade D (Honours), including Maths and English. Applicants who came through the UK system will need a minimum of five GCSEs at A to C grade, including Maths and English Language.

There’ll be a medical assessment to ensure that you’re fit to carry out the duties of a PSNI constable. You’ll also be required to pass the Physical Competence Assessment, which is an obstacle course that has to be completed three times in three minutes and 54 seconds. So you’ll need to be fit enough to get through that.

If you think you have what it takes, you can get the ball rolling by submitting an online application on the PSNI website.

For more information or to submit an application, check out the website. It will take you through what you need to apply, how to make an application and what’s involved in the job if you’re successful.
