Owens was the victim of a vicious assault in Maynooth on Sunday night.

The Roost pub in Maynooth is to donate takings from the door this Thursday night to Kym Owens, the 18-year old student who was the victim of a vicious assault on Sunday night.

Owens, from Castleblaney in Monaghan, was found unconscious on a footpath in Moyglare Abbey estate in Maynooth at approximately 8.30pm on Sunday night, having sustained serious head injuries in what Gardaí described as a “serious assault”.

Owens is in a serious but stable condition in Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown and Gardaí have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who were in the vicinity of Maynooth Village/Moyglare Abbey Estate between 7.30pm and 9.15pm on Sunday night, to contact them at Leixlip Garda Station on 01 6667800, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda station.

The Roost Bar in Maynooth have announced that they will donate all proceeds from the door on Thursday night to Kym and have also suggested that there will be a collection at the weekend to which locals can contribute to show their support.
