The guy who killed the aliens in Independence Day is trying to take Bernie Sanders’ senator position

Academy Award-nominee, Golden Globe-winner and one-time Canada-bound fugitive Randy Quaid plans to oppose America's political sweetheart Bernie Sanders for his Senate seat next year. According to Deadline, there is a documenaty/sit-com in the works by an American production company who want to follow Quaid, and his wife Evi, as he takes on Bernie Sanders for the senate seat. A few years back, Quaid and his wife went on the lam to Canada, in order to dodge a 2010 case involving breaking into and vandalising their former home in California. They were then stopped at the Canadian/American border trying to flee back into America, but after some issues with passports and the legalities of the situation, the couple now apparently live in Vermont. And if you think any of that might be enough to stop a political career in its tracks, then you haven't been paying enough attention to the news lately...
